Savills International, one of the leading real estate agencies, has included Dubrovnik in a list of the most prestigious destinations in the world to purchase property. The average price of property is 4600 Euros a metre squared which puts Dubrovnik in 21st position on the top worldwide destinations. According to the company house prices in Istanbul totalled 4500 Euros a metre squared and Poland 4700 Euros. Property prices in Dubrovnik are still considerably lower than Monaco where the average price of 50,000 euros per square meter is the most expensive. Croatia’s neighbours are also fast becoming hit destinations, property prices in Budva, Monte Negro, where a metre squared costs 3580 Euros, which puts the country in 25th place. The increasing interest of foreigners to buy property in Dubrovnik was influenced by inclusion on the list of lifestyle destination, rich cultural and historical heritage of the city is known worldwide, but also the building of highways and, in general, its better transport links with the world.
