The shipping company MSC have christened the latest edition to their cruise ship family MSC Magnifica on the 6^th of March in Hamburg. As with the previous eight ships the godmother of the new ship was the film diva Sophia Loren. The ship is long over 293 metres in length and can accommodate 3100 passengers and a crew of around a 1000. After sailing out of Hamburg port MSC Magnifica will sail the Mediterranean and will sail into Dubrovnik for the first time on the 19^th of March at around 10am. Then she will continue sailing on a regular itinerary Italy, Greece Turkey, Croatia. MSC Magnifica will arrive at the Dubrovnik Port every Friday. MSC Cruises has announced that in 2010 in Dubrovnik cruise ships from the company will arrive 97 times. MSC Magnifica will arrive on Fridays, MSC Musica on Saturdays and MSC Armonia on Tuesdays. MSC Cruises is the first shipping company that will sail to the port of Dubrovnik continuously throughout the winter season with the last scheduled arrival being on the 27^th of December. MSC Cruises is the only shipping company that allows passengers to board in the port of Dubrovnik.
