Croatia and Turkey were the best destinations for cruise ships in 2009. This news arrived from Spain, at the presentation of “Cruise Excellence Awards” organized by the Cruises News Media Group. At the presentation held on the 18^th of February, the director of the Port of Dubrovnik, Mr. Vlaho Đurković, the director of the Port of Zadar, Mr. Ivica Burić, and representatives of the Port of Šibenik all attended. This award speaks for the growing segment of tourism in Croatia, which is evident from the latest statistics from the Central Bureau of Statistics, according to which the number of passengers who have visited Croatia on cruisers has doubled in the last four years and reached a figure of almost one million passengers in 2009.
