A reader of The Dubrovnik Times noticed a familiar scene whilst he was watching the film “Pippi in the South Seas”. The film was part of the Pippi Long stockings series based on the books by Astrid Lindgren and made in 1974 in co-operation by a Swedish/German production team. The synopsis of the films states “When Pippi's father is captured by pirates searching for the treasure of the Long stockings; it's up to Pippi, Tommy and Annika to sail away and save the day”. Although the majority of the film was shot on location in Barbados a small section was filmed somewhere closer to home. Enjoy the clip!
