This month the City Council of Dubrovnik will invite tenders for the construction of a roundabout in the Lapad suburb. “Project is finished, all approvals have been agreed by the Ministry of Interior, the tender documentation is prepared and by the beginning of the season we expect all works to be completed” commented the Deputy Mayor of Dubrovnik Mr. Niko Šalja. He added that a roundabout was needed at this traffic junction to solve the problems of vehicles turning left towards the university and pedestrians having to cross four lanes of traffic. Also the path on the right hand side of the road will be widened as it is now to narrow for people with disabilities. A roundabout in this position will certainly solve traffic jams as well as reducing the noise and increasing road safety.
