A new website has been launched to present a unique souvenir from Dubrovnik, wax models of the ship “Karaka” designed and developed by Tonći Jonjić. The site, www.vostanibrod.com, was created a part of a project by the Ministry of Tourism in co-operation with the City of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the Dubrovnik – Neretva Tourist Board.

“I wanted to combine a forgotten traditional craft, history, culture, love and contemporary art” commented Mr. Jonjić. He added “Three burning candles generate a special atmosphere, creating a ring of light as a ring of love towards the sea”. The City of Dubrovnik has given permission for the crest of the city to be used which adds authenticity to this souvenir. Apart from information about the souvenir itself the website includes history, video links, a gallery and other interesting information about the whole project.
